In this online interactive workshop, educators will gain invaluable insights into trauma-informed and identity-affirming approaches to 2SLGBTQIA+ inclusion, equipping them with practical tools and strategies for creating safe and affirming learning environments.
As we delve into the rich tapestry of Canadian 2SLGBTQIA+ histories, we'll also highlight the significance of archives in preserving and amplifying marginalized voices. Incorporating these histories and stories into our classrooms not only acknowledges the lived experiences of 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals today but also illuminates the vibrant and interconnected communities that persevered and advocated for their rights in the past.
The 2SLGBTQIA+ acronym encompasses Two-Spirit, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and/or Questioning, Intersex, Asexual, and more. The “+” signifies inclusivity for individuals identifying as part of sexual and gender diverse communities, who use additional terminologies.
